What We Do
What are all those parents running around the school doing? They are either volunteering in the classrooms, or helping the PTA with the many things we do during the year. Below are some of those things that the PTA either supports or provides for the French Valley Community:
Meet the Masters Art Program: The PTA, along with the teachers and principal, develop the art program for the year. The PTA then provides the funds, the training, and the docents for the program.
Family Fun Nights: Family fun packed evenings of music, art, and storytelling.
Book Fair: An opportunity for parents and students to view and purchase a large array of Scholastic books.
Fund Raiser: Generally gift-wrap and cookie dough, the income from this fundraiser will be the deciding factor on which programs to offer parents and students throughout the year.
General Mills Box Tops/Labels: A pain free way to collect funds through donating General Mills box tops and selected labels.
Holiday Boutique: A boutique offered to students in December to purchase gifts for Christmas and Hanukkah at discount prices.
Mom's & Muffins: A morning designed with mothers in mind. Mothers or significant females are treated to coffee, juice and muffins in the stage area before school.
Programs and Assemblies: Various educational assemblies brought to the school to enrich the curriculum.
Random Acts of Kindness Week: A proven positive program designed for children to generate kindness and caring throughout the community.
Red Ribbon Week: A full week of DARE programs to encourage children from using drugs and cigarettes.
Reflections: A program designed for children to express themselves though art, photography, music and literature.
T-Shirts: Spirit T-shirts are offered through PTA at a nominal fee.
Staff Appreciation Week: PTA has used this week to show teachers and staff how much they are appreciated by means of lunch and pampering.
Turn Off The TV: A week of incentives to not watch Television. Emphasis is on reading, leisure and quality family time.
Web Site: French Valley PTA maintains a web site at www.fvespta.org. The site contains an up to date calendar, links to other sites and other up to date information as it relates to school related activity.
